 Stunning West Hartford Bathroom Transformation

Here at First Choice Bathroom Remodeling, we believe that even the most outdated bathroom can be transformed into an elegant space. Our recent bathroom remodeling project in Southington, CT transformed a cramped, outdated bathroom into a bright and stylish retreat. At First Choice Bathroom Remodeling, we believe even the most outdated bathroom can become a modern oasis with the right design and craftsmanship. The homeowners of this Southington home wanted to update their old bath with contemporary style, improved functionality, and a more open feel. We completely renovated the space from the ground up to fulfill their vision. Here’s how our team made it happen, step by step.

Before the Remodel: Dated Design and  Decor

The old tub-shower combo was cramped and surrounded by outdated pink tile and a flimsy curtain. Before the remodel, the bathroom felt stuck in the past: dull paint above worn ceramic tile, an aging bathtub with discolored grout, and old chrome fixtures well past their prime. The layout was cramped, lacking both storage and style. Every shower meant dealing with a clingy curtain in a tight space, and the dark, dated flooring made the small room feel even smaller and drearier.

The original tiny wall-mounted sink offered almost no counter space or storage, making daily routines a challenge. Its fixtures were decades old, and a basic mirror and dim overhead light left the room poorly lit. There was no vanity or medicine cabinet for organization, just the bare essentials in a very dated bathroom. It’s easy to see why the homeowners were eager for a change. They wanted to trade this tired setup for something brighter, sleeker, and more functional. Our design team worked closely with them to plan a remodel that would introduce a fresh color scheme (soft grays and whites), modern fixtures, and better use of space without expanding the footprint.

During the Renovation: The Vision Comes Together

During this Southington bathroom renovation, our crew completely gutted the space down to the studs. We removed the old tub, tiles, sink, and toilet, giving us a clean slate to work with. This full demolition allowed our Southington CT remodelers to update the plumbing and electrical behind the walls – crucial for installing a modern shower and improved lighting. We relocated the plumbing lines for a new walk-in shower where the tub used to be, and put in proper backer boards and waterproofing to ensure a leak-proof foundation for the new tile work. Throughout the renovation, our experienced team worked efficiently and kept the workspace tidy, minimizing disruption for the homeowners while the transformation took shape.

Post Renovation: The Transformation

The completed bathroom remodel is bright, open, and modern. There is a clear a night and day difference from before. Removing the bulky tub and installing a glass-enclosed walk-in shower instantly opened up the room, making it feel larger and more inviting. The new shower features sleek, easy to clean tile walls and a mosaic tile floor, with a built-in niche for shampoos and a sturdy grab bar for added safety and accessibility. Shiny chrome fixtures (like a rainfall showerhead and matching faucet) bring a cohesive, contemporary look and are built to last without constant upkeep. We replaced the old wall sink with a elegant pedestal sink in classic white, which preserves floor space while improving style. Fresh light-gray paint on the walls, a new brighter light fixture, and an LED-powered vanity mirror have banished the old shadows and give the room a welcoming glow. Every detail, from the polished fixtures to the crisp color palette works together to create a spa-like bathroom that feels brand new. The homeowners are thrilled with how this Southington bathroom renovation turned out, enjoying a beautiful space that finally meets their needs.
