Before the Remodel

Before the remodel, the Bristol bathroom was clearly showing its age. In the photo, you can see the original space with a dated tile floor and a basic laminate vanity with drop in sinks. A bulky plastic shower insert took up one corner, and an outdated strip light above the mirror cast unflattering light across the room. The overall design felt cramped and decades behind the times, functional for daily use, but lacking in style and comfort. The homeowners were eager to upgrade these old materials and fixtures, seeking a brighter, more contemporary look with improved amenities.

Prior to renovation, every surface needed an update. The old floor was a cold, cracked tile that made the room feel smaller. The vanity offered minimal storage and had a worn laminate top with twin drop in bowls that had seen better days. Even the lighting was antiquated, relying on an old-fashioned fixture that provided poor illumination. During the Renovation

During the remodel process, our skilled team completely gutted the old bathroom to make way for the new design. In this in-progress photo, you can see that we’ve stripped out the aging tile floor and removed the plastic shower unit, leaving a clean slate. We repaired and prepped the subfloor and walls, installing new cement backer boards as a sturdy foundation for upcoming tile work. Critical waterproofing measures were taken at this stage. For example, a PVC moisture barrier was laid in the shower pan and a waterproof membrane applied to the shower walls to seal out moisture. This step is vital to ensure the longevity of the new tiles and prevent leaks.

With the infrastructure prepared, our crew moved on to the installation phase. We carefully rerouted plumbing as needed for the new fixtures and double-checked all electrical wiring in preparation for modern lighting. Next came the new flooring and large format porcelain tiles with a wood look finish were cut and laid in a precise pattern across the floor. Using laser levels and chalk lines, each tile was set perfectly straight and even, giving the appearance of hardwood with the durability of tile. On the walls, we began crafting the custom shower: gorgeous ceramic tiles were installed from floor to ceiling, including a mosaic accent in the built in shower niche. Throughout the process, attention to detail was paramount. Our team is known for doing things right, from proper demolition and waterproofing to expert tilework, and this project was no exception. Despite the comprehensive scope of work, we kept to an efficient timeline such as coordinating each step smoothly so the homeowners could have their new bathroom ready as quickly as possible without cutting any corners.
