Bathroom Remodeling in Bristol, CT: A Stunning Before & After Transformation

If you’re considering bathroom remodeling in Bristol, CT, take inspiration from this recently completed project; a full bathroom renovation in Bristol, Connecticut that transformed an outdated space into a modern sanctuary. The goal of this remodel was to modernize and improve the overall aesthetics while enhancing functionality. In this blog, we’ll walk through the journey before, during, and after the renovation, showcasing the dramatic changes and quality craftsmanship. From dated tile and old fixtures to a sleek new shower and vanity, see how First Choice Bathroom Remodeling brought new life to this Bristol CT bathroom remodel. By following a proven process with licensed local experts, this bathroom renovation in Bristol Connecticut not only looks stunning but is built to last.

Before the Remodel

Before the remodel, the Bristol bathroom was clearly showing its age. In the photo, you can see the original space with a dated tile floor and a basic laminate vanity with drop in sinks. A bulky plastic shower insert took up one corner, and an outdated strip light above the mirror cast unflattering light across the room. The overall design felt cramped and decades behind the times, functional for daily use, but lacking in style and comfort. The homeowners were eager to upgrade these old materials and fixtures, seeking a brighter, more contemporary look with improved amenities.

Prior to renovation, every surface needed an update. The old floor was a cold, cracked tile that made the room feel smaller. The vanity offered minimal storage and had a worn laminate top with twin drop in bowls that had seen better days. Even the lighting was antiquated, relying on an old-fashioned fixture that provided poor illumination. It was the kind of bathroom that might have been considered luxury in the 1980s, but by today’s standards it was well overdue for a refresh. The owners envisioned a complete transformation, one that would swap the bland and dated features for a fresh, modern design tailored to their tastes.

During the Renovation

During the remodel process, our skilled team completely gutted the old bathroom to make way for the new design. In this in-progress photo, you can see that we’ve stripped out the aging tile floor and removed the plastic shower unit, leaving a clean slate. We repaired and prepped the subfloor and walls, installing new cement backer boards as a sturdy foundation for upcoming tile work. Critical waterproofing measures were taken at this stage. For example, a PVC moisture barrier was laid in the shower pan and a waterproof membrane applied to the shower walls to seal out moisture. This step is vital to ensure the longevity of the new tiles and prevent leaks.

With the infrastructure prepared, our crew moved on to the installation phase. We carefully rerouted plumbing as needed for the new fixtures and double-checked all electrical wiring in preparation for modern lighting. Next came the new flooring and large format porcelain tiles with a wood look finish were cut and laid in a precise pattern across the floor. Using laser levels and chalk lines, each tile was set perfectly straight and even, giving the appearance of hardwood with the durability of tile. On the walls, we began crafting the custom shower: gorgeous ceramic tiles were installed from floor to ceiling, including a mosaic accent in the built in shower niche. Throughout the process, attention to detail was paramount. Our team is known for doing things right, from proper demolition and waterproofing to expert tilework, and this project was no exception. Despite the comprehensive scope of work, we kept to an efficient timeline such as coordinating each step smoothly so the homeowners could have their new bathroom ready as quickly as possible without cutting any corners.

Post Renovation

After the remodel, the transformation is nothing short of stunning. The once dated bathroom is now a bright, beautiful retreat that the Bristol homeowners can be proud of. As shown in this photo, the old plastic shower insert has been replaced with a custom tiled walk in shower featuring a sleek frameless entry. The shower walls are clad in elegant ceramic tile, and a handy built-in niche provides storage for shampoos and soaps. Matte black fixtures, from the rainfall showerhead to the valve trims add a touch of modern luxury and contrast beautifully with the light tile. On the floor, the new porcelain tiles mimic the look of rich wood planks, bringing warmth and style without the maintenance of real wood. The entire space is now cohesively designed, giving a fresh and spacious feel compared to the original cramped layout.

Another angle of the completed Bristol CT bathroom remodel showcases the upgraded vanity area. The outdated laminate vanity was swapped out for a custom dual sink vanity with a solid wood build and a gleaming quartz countertop. The undermount sinks and modern black faucet fixtures not only look sleek but also improve functionality for a busy household. Above the vanity, an expansive LED backlit mirror now hangs, providing crisp lighting for daily routines and an extra touch of elegance. We also installed recessed ceiling lights and updated vanity lighting to ensure the room is bright and inviting. You can see how the new lighting design eliminates shadows and highlights the bathroom’s features, from the tile textures to the stylish matte black hardware. Every detail, down to the black towel bars and shower trim, was chosen to match the contemporary black and white design scheme. The final result is a bathroom that blends modern luxury with everyday comfort, truly a dream space compared to where we began.

Beyond the obvious aesthetic improvements, this remodel also upgraded the bathroom’s performance and safety. The new ventilation fan keeps the room fresh and mold-free, and all materials (from moisture-resistant drywall to slip-resistant floor tile) were selected with longevity in mind. The homeowners now have a beautiful, modern bathroom that not only meets their style goals but will also serve them reliably for years to come.
